New Orleans, LA – Dan Gulf Shipping  Inc, the frontrunner in the transport of project cargoes, heavy-lifts, steel, and breakbulk, announces its President, Niels Busse, will take over the  Liner Services responsible for managing Caytrans BBC,  an ocean freight liner service operating between the U.S. Gulf, north coast South America and the Caribbean. He will directly oversee a new team in charge of chartering and sales.

Niels started Dan Gulf Shipping, Inc in 1993 after serving as one of the founding members of Intermarine Inc. in 1990. Over the past 23 years he has built an extensive and proven track record for Dan-Gulf in the international shipping arena. In 2006, his company partnered with BBC to form Caytrans BBC, which has the ability to tap into a fleet of over 150 ships operated by BBC.

The new team at Dan Gulf consists of talented professionals ready to fulfill the company’s motto: “Your Cargo, Our Mission; We Get It There." As leader of his new team, Niels brings 40 years of experience in the global shipping industry and will lead the company’s business development activities as well as continue to build and maintain lasting relationships with past and future clients.

Niels is an avid bicyclist. Dan- Gulf Shipping sponsors and participates in several annual cycling fundraisers such as the ADA Tour de Cure to benefit of the American Diabetes Association, and the MS Bike Tour for multiple sclerosis.  The funds raised by Niels and his team make it possible to continue supporting important programs that offer so much hope within our community.

Mikhail Vasyliev

Mikhail started his shipping career in 2002 as a port agent manager in Reni, a sea-river port Ukraine. Since then he has held various positions in maritime project development where he gained expertise in chartering of bulk and break-bulk commodities. He immigrated to the United States in 2011, along with his wife Olga and their three young kids.Mikhail is a native Ukrainian speaker, and is fluent in Russian, Romanian, Moldavian, and English.

Eliana McCaffery

Eliana holds a B.A. from Loyola University New Orleans in Public Relations and Marketing, and graduate studies in Intercultural Management and Business from the Sorbonne, in Paris France. Prior to joining Dan Gulf, she worked in European banking and in the event management industry. Eliana is a native Spanish and English speaker, and is fluent in French.

Nicklas Smalbro

Nicklas joined the team from Denmark, and has five years of experience in the shipping industry. He started his career as a shipbroker at Lightship Chartering A/S before moving to New Orleans.  Nicklas is a native Danish speaker and is fluent in Swedish, Norwegian and English.
